OUR PREVIOUS GARDEN

Our previous garden in Middlesex was designed and built in 1997.  A typical urban garden, it was 50 metres long but only 7 metres wide so it was split into a series of rooms, each inspired by a different metallic theme.
At the front the Copper Garden was planted in hot reds, to the side the Lead Garden was inspired by a Mediterranean patio with terracotta tiles, white walls and large black pots filled with plants chosen for their purple and black leaves and flowers.

The main patio area of interlinked paving circles and a raised pond was surrounded by bright planting to create a Gold Garden and over a small bridge was the Silver Garden with drought tolerant planting in gravel.

A pergola lead past the summerhouse to the nursery area and a potager garden of fruit and vegetables.

The garden was featured in several leading gardening magazines including the Royal Horticultural Society magazine ‘The Garden’ and ‘Gardens Monthly’ and was open to the public through the National Gardens Scheme.
